At the heart of North Devon, on the banks of the river Taw, is the market town of Barnstaple and the Tarka Tennis Centre - one of the best indoor tennis facilities in the country.
Since opening in 2003, the Tarka Tennis Centre has hosted a variety of LTA Tournaments from Junior and County level to Men's Challengers, and in 2008, the inaugural Barnstaple Open. The Tournament, now part of the AEGON Pro-Series, is primarily aimed at Players ranked 50-150 on the Sony Ericson WTA tour, with many having competed at The Championships, Wimbledon and other higher profile Tournaments. The 2008 Barnstaple Open attracted a superb selection of players from the tour including 5 of the top 10 British ranked players, along with the Wimbledon Junior Champion and Australian Open Junior Finalist, Laura Robson.
The current Champion and holder of the Dartington Vase, is the British No 1, Anne Keothavong.
This backdrop offers businesses in the South West a rare opportunity to entertain their clients and guests at a premier sporting event in their region. Our hospitality is based at the Imperial Hotel, Barnstaple - a short distance across the medieval long bridge from the venue.
The Imperial offers a relaxed atmosphere in the flagship hotel of the Brend Group for parties of 6 or
more, in the exclusive surrounds of the private hospitality suite. Smaller parties can be catered for on a table sharing basis. Corporate guests have the exclusive use of the suite and can return at anytime
during the day with the use of the Corporate Hospitality passes.
All profits from the Tournament go back into funding Tarka coaching programmes for children and players of all backgrounds, many of whom are now competing successfully at County level. So in addition to a great day's entertainment for you and your guests, your support could lead to a future world number one or Wimbledon Champion from North Devon!
Discounts are available for parties of 12 or more.
